There’s no doubt that technology is disrupting the higher education market, but where could it go further? Why are students still getting very expensive degrees when there are cheaper alternatives? And how can the online education programs become even more attractive options to young Americans than they already are?
It would be great if college was more affordable, and policy makers should work toward that goal, as many of us can’t afford college degrees or are struggling under student debt. But increased government funding to make college tuition “free” or “more affordable” is only going to make things worse.
Getting into Stanford is about to get a lot better for a lot of students accepted into the class of 2019. But we’re ready to see solutions across the board that address the real problem and make higher education accessible to everyone.
